Proper Syringe Disposal
Please. . .
Dispose used syringes properly.
The following procedure is recommended for the household disposal of used syringes. State
regulation covers all other generators of such waste. This procedure is not for health-care
facilities or non-residential syringe disposal.

Place used syringes in a wide mouth container such as a liquid laundry detergent bottle until
about half full.

Add at least one capful of laundry bleach for each bottle and then fill with water. Be careful with
bleach.

Recap the bottle tightly with the original stopper.

Dispose in trash for collection by Town’s contractor the day of collection.
