Book Title: Ptolemy's Gate (Bartimaeus Trilogy, Book 3)
Author: Jonathan Stroud
Number of pages: 501
Rating (1-5 and 5 is best): 5

Ptolemy's Gate is an awesome book.  It is the last in the Bartimaeus Trilogy.  It is about a genie named Bartimaeus who is the unwilling servant of Nathaniel, a young magician who is very powerful in the English government.  Nathaniel and Bartimaeus are trying to find information about a conspiracy trying to overthrow the government.  Meanwhile, Kitty, a former rebel, is planning to ask for Bartimaeus's help to overthrow the magicians.  This book is very funny.  Many chapters are told from the perspective of the wisecracking Bartimaeus.  It is also very exciting.  I really could not put the book down and stayed up really late finishing it.  This is a very exciting and entertaining read and I highly recommend it.

redwall
Book Title: Redwall
Author: Brian Jacques
Number of pages: 251
Rating (1-5 and 5 is best): 5

This is an excellent book!  It's about an abbey of peaceful woodland creatures that gets attacked by an army of rats.  A clumsy young mouse named Matthias goes on a quest for a legendary sword to defeat Cluny, the rat leader, and save his home.  This book is very exciting and well-written.  It has many funny scenes too.  This is the first book in the Redwall series.  All the sequels are equally good.  Read this if you like fantasy or adventure books.

I recently read Darren Shan's newest book, Lord Loss. Darren Shan is the author of the series Cirque Du Freak. The series about a teenage vampire Darren Shan himself. His latest book in his new series (The Demonata) is dealing with demons instead. The book revolves around teenager Grubbs Grady. Grubbs is a normal kid who lives with his parents and sister. Nothing in Grubbs' life seems unusual or out of the ordinary, he's just like any other kid his age, he doesn't get along with his parents or sister too often, loves to pull pranks, and despises school. All this changes when catastrophe breaks and Grubbs' family is slaughtered by demons. Grubbs narrowly escapes this fate and from that day on, his destiny is filled with horrors and demons. After day after day in an insane asylum, Grubbs sets out to live with his uncle Dervish. While living in Dervish's mansion, Grubbs meets a kid his age Bill-E (Who he later learns a special connection with) and also learns things about himself and his family that he never knew. Together Grubbs and dervish hatch a plan to destroy the demon (Lord Loss) who murdered Grubbs' parents and sister. The next book in the series isn't a continuation of Grubbs' story, but a new character. Darren Shan himself says that after three or four books there will be an evident connection between all the characters and Grubbs will be in another book. I would give this book a 5 and recommend it for people looking for an easy read, and who have an interest in all things paranormal.

Gods Themselves Book Cover
Book Title:
The Gods Themselves

Number of pages: 288
Rating (1-5 and 5 is best): 5

A tale of unveiling hidden dangers of a newly discovered "free" energy source, Asimov masterfully weaves this story of the one man who believes that there is a price to pay.  He even creates all aspects of an alien life form. There is no question, Asimov is a sci-fi master.
