ATTENTION WEYMOUTH RESIDENTS

In order to be consistent and better informed, Mayor Susan Kay is instituting a new “Special Event Request” form and inter-departmental procedure.

If you are planning a block party, road race or an event in one of our public parks, you will now be required to fill out a Special Event Request form.  Certain department heads, such as the Police & Fire Chiefs, will be asked to sign off their approval and knowledge of such an event.  The Mayor’s Office staff will provide a completed, signed copy of the form to the individual making the request prior to their event and will also keep a copy on file.

It is recommended that a request be made well in advance of an event to allow for proper notification to all appropriate departments.

In the past, written permission for some events was required and a permit was issued through the Mayor’s Office.  This new procedure and Special Event Request form will replace the old procedure and will hopefully keep all essential departments informed of events within our community.

Please contact the Mayor’s Office at 781-340-5012 for the Special Event Request form or for more information.  These forms are also available on our website at: www.weymouth.ma.usunder documents and forms and also on the Mayor’s Office page.

Please Note:  Mike Doyle of our Recreation Department will continue issuing all field permits.
