Single-family home available for resale to qualifying affordable-housing applicants

Weymouth, MA – Planning and Community Development Director Robert Luongo announced today that a single-family home is available for resale at 21 Mansfield Street in Weymouth to qualifying candidates of affordable housing. This resale is first come, first serve.

The home at 21 Mansfield Street was constructed in 1997 as part of the Pine Grove Redevelopment Project, which incorporated 10 units of affordable housing to be reserved in perpetuity for low-moderate income households. These units are subject to an affordable housing “deed rider,” which restricts the amount the units can be resold for and requires that subsequent buyers have a household income at or below 80 percent of area medium income.

The current resale unit is a three-bedroom, single-family, colonial home with one full bath, one half bath, and approximately 1,470 square feet of living space, as well as an unfinished 720-square-foot basement. The unit is currently under renovation and will be ready for occupancy by the end of the calendar year. This home will be sold move-in ready with a dishwasher, electric stove, Formica countertops, wood cabinets, and washer and dryer hookup.

Potentially qualified homebuyers are asked to complete an application and submit all required documentation for income verification. For questions, applicants should contact Lynne Sweet at LDS Consulting Group, LLC, at (617) 454-1144 or info@ldsconsultinggroup.com.
