Mayor announces collection drive for hurricane relief in Houston
Weymouth, MA – Mayor Robert Hedlund announced today that the Town of Weymouth is sponsoring a collection drive to aid those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas. The collection effort starts Wednesday, August 30th, and ends at 5:00 pm, Thursday, August 31st.
The Mayor is asking residents to contribute items from the list below. These items will be transported to Texas on Friday, September 1st, in coordination with relief entities.
ITEMS NEEDED:
- Toiletries
- New blankets
- Diapers (child and adult)
- Baby formula
WHERE WE’RE COLLECTING:
- Weymouth Teen Center, Youth and Family Services
1393 Pleasant Street, Weymouth (First Floor, 8:30 am – 6:00 pm)
- Weymouth Town Hall
75 Middle Street, Weymouth (First Floor/Main Lobby, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm)
- Weymouth Police Station
140 Winter Street, Weymouth (First Floor/Main Lobby, Open 24 hours, Donations will be accepted until 5:00 pm, Thursday, August 31st)
