Low-Vision Magnification Readers

At Tufts Library

The Merlin Magnifier enables patrons with low vision to view images in color, black and white, high contrast positive or high contrast negative. It was generously donated to the Tufts Library by the Weymouth Lions Club.

At Pratt Library

The Optelec ClearView 517 offers patrons with low vision an integrated, full-color video magnifier with sleek, ergonomic design. It includes a custom-designed 17″ ‘bright image’ tilting monitor. Also, it features a smooth-riding table, large enough to accommodate a large book or magazine, comfortable wrist rests, and two pencil holders. Controls include: instant focus, one-touch zoom, position locator and photo, reading, and reverse reading modes. This magnifier was generously donated to the Pratt Library by the Weymouth Lions Club.
