About

Director’s Welcome

Welcome to the Weymouth Public Libraries web site. We provide a vast array of services and materials serving members of the community from birth to senior citizens. We provide books, magazines, audiobooks, videos, museum passes, storyhours, programs of interest to all ages and meeting space for cultural and civic organizations.

We are a member of the Old Colony Library Network (OCLN), a cooperative of 28 member libraries located on the South Shore of Massachusetts. OCLN membership includes 26 town and city libraries and 2 academic libraries. Participation in this consortium provides our automated library catalog as well as enabling our patrons to enjoy borrowing privileges at all of the other member libraries. Materials from other libraries are delivered to us on a daily basis to ensure prompt receipt of your requested items.

We have made great strides in technological advancement. Remote access to many of our services is made available through our web page. Patrons can access our on-line catalog, review their accounts and place holds, download an audiobook, see what’s new in our collection, access multiple reference and research databases, view our calendar of events and book museum passes. Wireless internet access is now available throughout the building for use by patrons with their own laptops.

I hope you enjoy your virtual and actual visits to the Weymouth Public Libraries. We look forward to serving your educational, cultural and recreational needs. Please forward your comments and suggestions to me at rmaclean@ocln.org or contact me via telephone at 781-340-5002.

Sincerely,

Robert MacLean
Director of Library Services
