The Library Construction Committee is a 13-member advisory body established by Mayor Robert Hedlund to oversee the Tufts Library Building Project, a $33 million public building project to design and construct a modern, 21st-century library for the people of Weymouth.

The Library Construction Committee is responsible for oversight of all phases of the Tufts Library Building Project, including selection of an Owner's Project Manager (OPM), selection of an architect and design team, development of the building's design and construction documents, bidding of the construction project, and actual construction.

A formal ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Tufts Library was held September 28, 2020. The library is now open with restrictions due to COVID-19.
