What does the Planning Board do?

The Planning Board is responsible for preparing, updating, and amending the Town's Master Plan, making recommendations on Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map amendments, and reporting on any other land use related plans and studies. The Planning Board regulates the subdivision of land in accordance with the Town's Subdivision Rules and Regulations and serves as the local authority of the Subdivision Control Act. The Board also serves as the Capital Planning Committee and prepares and revises the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to forecast the projected capital expenditures and needs for the Town over the next five fiscal years and submits the updated CIP annually to the Mayor.
