Citizen Participation Meeting- Needs Identification for Five Year Consolidated Plan for CDBG Program

Event Date:
Thursday, December 12, 2019 - 9:00am to 11:00am

This is a public meeting concerning the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). This grant is provided as an annual entitlement to the town by the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to benefit low and moderate income residents in the areas of housing and economic and community development.

Every five years the town is required by HUD to prepare a Five Year Consolidated Plan identifying the priority needs of the community for public services, infrastructure improvements, economic development, affordable housing, and more. CDBG funds are then required to be directed towards meeting such needs each year during the five year period.

HUD requires that the town take steps to involve citizens in the identication of priority needs that will help to guide the use of CDBG funds along with other factors such as HUD regulations governing eligibility of activities to be funded.
