Fair Housing seminar offered for landlords, May 17

Fair Housing 101

Weymouth, MA – Mayor Robert Hedlund announced today that the South Shore Fair Housing Committee will host a free public seminar to train landlords and property owners on their fair-housing responsibilities, as well as offer resources for improving building performance, reducing operation costs, and maintaining safe and habitable living conditions. The Fair Housing 101 seminar will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 7:00 pm in the Weymouth High School’s Mary J. Livingstone Humanities Center. Refreshments will be offered starting at 6:30 pm. “This seminar is a great resource for any landlord or property manager in Weymouth,” said Mayor Robert Hedlund. “Fair housing regulations can seem daunting until they’re explained in an approachable, digestible way. We made a commitment in our recent Housing Production Plan to support just these types of trainings. I am glad that we can host this seminar alongside the South Shore Fair Housing Committee and its partners.”

Fair Housing 101 is a free public event hosted by the South Shore Fair Housing Committee, representing the municipalities of Braintree, Holbrook, Milton, Quincy, and Weymouth. The event is offered in partnership with Mass Housing, NeighorWorks Southern Mass, Quincy Community Action Programs (QCAP), and Suffolk University Law School. All landlords, property managers, housing authorities, real estate agents, municipal officials, and interested citizens from the South Shore are invited to attend.

Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Walk-ins are welcome. Persons may register online or via phone:
