The function of the Procurement and Purchasing Division is to assist all Town Departments in purchasing necessary items and services of the best quality at the lowest price, within the parameters of the Town ordinances and the State purchasing laws. We do this by writing specifications, soliciting bids and/or quotes from qualified vendors, and using the available state contracts. All purchases over $500 whether small or large must be approved by the Chief Procurement Officer.

The Procurement and Purchasing Division maintains a vendor list, catalog reference file and an inventory of office supplies for the convenience of all departments. It is the responsibility of the Procurement and Purchasing Division to review contracts to cover these purchases, again meeting all local and state laws.
