The Town of Weymouth invites contractors to submit Bid Proposals for Exterior Repairs at the Weymouth Town Hall, 75 Middle Street, Weymouth, Massachusetts 02189 in accordance with the documents prepared by McKinnell McKinnell & Taylor Inc., 164 Washington Street, Norwell, MA  02061.

The work is estimated to cost $430,100.00.

General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) in the following category of work: Historic Building.

All bids for the project are subject to the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter l49, Sections 44A and 44J and to minimum wages as required by M.G.L. C.149 Sections 26 to 27H inclusive. 

General Bids will be received until, 11:00 a.m., (local legal time) Thursday, March 15, 2018 by the Awarding Authority at the office of the Town of Weymouth, 75 Middle Street, Weymouth, Massachusetts 02189 and at the time will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Filed Sub-Bids for the trades listed below will be received until 11:00 a.m. at the above address, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 and publicly opened forthwith.

Filed sub-bidders must be DCAM certified for the trades listed below and bidders must include a current DCAM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the Weymouth Town Hall, 75 Middle Street, Weymouth, Massachusetts 02189 at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.

General bids and Sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, treasurer’s check, or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company payable to the Town of Weymouth in the amount of 5% of the greatest bid amount (considering all alternates).

Request for Services

Designer Services

The Town of Weymouth (the “Owner”) is seeking the services of a qualified “Designer” as defined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 7, §§ 44-57 and as further defined by provisions stated in the Request For Services to provide professional design services for design development, construction document, bidding and construction administration of the Tufts Library project (the “Proposed Project”), located at 46 Broad Street, Weymouth, Massachusetts 02189. The selection of a Designer will be made by the Library Construction Committee (LCC). The Designer’s fee will be based on a percentage of the construction cost as indicated in the RFS.

The total construction cost is estimated to be $22.5 million based on the schematic design in the grant agreement between the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Town of Weymouth. The approved schematic design is 50,246 s.f.. A pre-proposal conference and tour will take place at 9:30 am Thursday February 8, 2018 at the Jones Room of the Tufts Library. The building is open to the public. Any questions regarding the project must be submitted in writing as directed in the RFS, and not verbally to employees or staff of the Town of Weymouth and Tufts Library.
