Traffic Advisory - Middle Street and Libbey Parkway

The Town of Weymouth will be commencing work on April 15, 2024 on construction of a new northbound right turn lane on Middle Street at Libbey Parkway and construction of new sidewalk on Libbey Parkway from Middle Street to the new Children’s Hospital Building.

The work is being done by D’Allessandro Corp. of West Bridgewater, MA.

The work in this contract includes, but is not strictly limited to roadway widening, construction of a retaining wall behind Planet Fitness and along its parking lot on Libbey Parkway, new sidewalks and minor drainage modifications.  The existing traffic signal will be modified to accommodate the right turn lane. Middle Street will be milled and resurfaced within the limits of work.  New granite curbing and cement concrete sidewalk will be installed on the south side of Libbey Parkway for approximately 975 feet and then cross over to the north side and continue for about 1,600 feet to the Children’s Hospital Building.

Temporary traffic control measures including lane shifts and lane closures will be utilized during work hours. Lanes will be re-opened at the end of each day.  Access to abutting properties will be maintained throughout the construction. Traffic details will be in place but we anticipate traffic delays during construction.

It is anticipated that this work will be completed by the end of September of 2024.

The work schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
