Weymouth Farmer’s Market will host an informational public forum to help plan for future seasons

Weymouth, MA – The Weymouth Farmer’s Market will host an informational public forum for shoppers, vendors, and the community at large on Wednesday, September 21st at 6:30 pm in the Town Council Chambers.  This forum is sponsored by the Farmer’s Market Steering Committee, which seeks input from key stakeholders on the future of the market in Weymouth.

The farmer’s market is a community event organized by the Town of Weymouth and funded in partnership with the Weymouth Food Pantry and Mass in Motion, an initiative of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  The market runs on Saturdays from early June to mid-October with goals to encourage healthy eating, bring fresh local food to people in need, and provide a weekly social experience to enhance Weymouth’s community.

In 2017, the market will enter its 8th season following a year of significant change and expansion.  The Steering Committee seeks public input on evaluating these changes and planning for future seasons.  There will be a short presentation by Committee members on findings from the 2016 season followed by a forum for public comment.  All interested persons are encouraged to attend.  Those unable to participate may send their comments via email to farmersmarket@weymouth.ma.us.
