Union Point

South Weymouth Naval Air Station Redevelopment

Union Point is a new and growing development in Weymouth. Encompassing nearly 1,500 acres on the site of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station, Union Point offers almost 4,000 homes, over 6 million square feet of commercial space, more than 1,000 acres of open space, and over 50 miles of trails. The full development encompasses land from three towns: Abington, Rockland, and Weymouth.

The SouthField Redevelopment Authority (SRA) is the local governmental agency at Union Point. Established in 1998 by the Massachusetts Legislature, the SRA was reconstituted in August 2014 to reinforce municipal control over land-use and development decisions affecting each of the three towns.
