Welcome and thank you for visiting the Town of Weymouth's website!
Weymouth is the second oldest town in the Commonwealth, dating from 1622 when it was founded as “Wessagusset”. Renamed Weymouth and incorporated in 1635, the Town was boosted in that year by the arrival of 100 settlers from its namesake in England. The town was a fishing and agricultural community for almost two hundred years, evolving into a manufacturing hub for shoes.
Today Weymouth is a primarily residential, inviting coastal suburb just south of Boston, with a convenient proximity to the city and highways that has attracted many great families and businesses.
Our goal through our website is to provide a wide variety of helpful information to make your interaction with the town as welcoming and convenient as possible.
As always, we welcome your comments. If we may be of service to you, please contact us by using the contact button to send me an email or by calling 781.340.5012.
