Columbian Square Improvement Project Anticipated Construction Schedule: April 15 – 19, 2024
On Monday, April 15, 2024, the Contractor will be installing new site lighting conduits, starting at Chauncy Street and working through to Central Street on the south side sidewalk. This work will carry through the entire week. Also on Monday, crews will be working to install site lighting conduits at the island in front of CeCe's Pizza and Catering.
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the Contractor will be preparing for concrete sidewalks on Pleasant Street between Union Street and Blanchard Street. Concrete sidewalks will be poured from Wilbur Street to Baileys Package store at this time. On Wednesday, April 17, 2024, concrete sidewalks will be poured from Blanchard Street toward Union Street. For the rest of the week, asphalt patching will take place at all new sidewalks and driveway aprons.
**Please note, there will be a temporary period when all pedestrian traffic will need to be kept off the newly poured concrete until it sets properly.**
Extra parking will be available in the municipal parking lot, located off Chauncy Street and Camelot Street. Two-way vehicular traffic will be maintained throughout the work zone. Ambulances and school buses will be given priority access through the work zone.
