The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) hears and decides individual cases brought by persons seeking land use relief as provided for in the Town's Zoning Ordinance and M.G.L. Chapter 40A, Sections 7, 9, and 17. Relief can take the form of special permits, variances, comprehensive permits, and/or appeals to a decision by the Inspector of Buildings.
The Board is comprised of five regular voting members and four associate members. Board members are Weymouth residents who are appointed by the Mayor for a two-year term.
