Columbian Square Improvement Project Weekly Anticipated Construction Schedule: March 18 – 22, 2024

Beginning on Monday, March 18, 2024, the Contractor is expected to return to the project area and will be removing and resetting curbing on the west (even-numbered) side of Columbian Street. This work will take place at 2 Columbian Street and will progress toward the South Shore Hospital ambulance entrance. Two-way vehicular traffic will be maintained throughout the work zone; however, a detour may be implemented as work gets closer to the intersection of Fogg Road and Columbian Street. Parking in this area will be limited as work progresses. It is anticipated that the sidewalk on the west side of Columbian Street will be closed for a few weeks until the new concrete sidewalks are installed. The sidewalk on the east side of Columbian Street will remain open and access to residences and businesses will remain open throughout this process.

To reduce impacts, it is encouraged that motorists seek alternate routes and expect brief traffic delays to facilitate efficient work and follow posted detour signage and instructions from the Police Detail Officers. Ambulances and school buses will be given priority access through the work zone.
